My name is Sahura Salisu, and I was born in Yalwan, Shandam LGA, of Plateau State. I lost my parents during the crisis in our area, which forced us to migrate to Gar, where we stayed with my uncle. After my parents' passing, my mother distributed us among her relatives, as she couldn't care for all of us alone. I got married to Dahiru Usman at 17, and we've been blessed with four children, two boys and two girls, who are all in school.
I started a small business selling rice and maize with an initial capital of ₦30,000. With the training stipend from RISD, I expanded my business to include palm oil, banana, and tiger nut. This expansion increased my profit by ₦15,000, allowing me to grow my capital to ₦60,000.
I've also invested in rearing goats and hens at home. Additionally, I've developed a habit of saving money through my bank account and prioritizing personal and environmental cleanliness.
