Bringing peace to her neighbours

Zuwaira Amadu

One day at home, one of my neighbors came to me. She said she heard that our manual has a lot of pictures and asked me to show her. I brought out the manual and showed her some pictures. She asked me to explain, so I opened the page on conflict resolution and explained what was happening in the picture.

Then she asked if what she and her co-wife had been doing, frequent quarreling, was wrong. I told her yes, it’s wrong to always fight with neighbors or co-wives. She asked how to resolve it, and I told her to go and apologize to her co-wife and ask for forgiveness for any wrong she had done. She did it.

The next day, they both came to my house, and her co-wife asked who told her to come and apologize, because she knew she couldn’t have done it on her own. She pointed to me. The co-wife was very happy with me and said this training was very good and that she wished she could be enrolled. That evening, I cooked and gave food to both of them, and they ate together.
